About Me

What I’d like you to know about me is that I enjoy connecting with all types of people and feel honored to work with my clients in a therapeutic, meaningful way.

What you should know about me is that I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC #6012) in private practice in Littleton, Colorado. I graduated from Regis University summa cum laude in 2008 with a M.A. in Community Counseling. I value continuing education and am a member of the American Counseling Association, the Colorado Counseling Association, the Colorado Sandplay Therapy Association (where I am on the Board of Directors), the Denver HealthCare Guild, and EMDRIA.

Additionally, I am an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consultant and an EMDRIA Approved Certified EMDR clinician. With these credentials, in addition to putting EMDR to excellent use with clients, I also am qualified to provide consultation to EMDR-trained clinicians in individual and group settings.

I am honored to be a part of your journey.

I believe my counseling niche encompasses helping people process grief and heal pain, find their inner strength and wisdom, trust themselves again and lead satisfying and strong lives.

It is my hope that I provide my clients with an appropriate amount of support and validation, balanced with assertion of challenge and change.

I have taken specialized classes and trainings, and have a special interest in:

  • Grief therapy
  • Trauma and abuse recovery
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • Unhealthy or unsatisfying relationships including domestic violence or intimate partner violence
  • Internet compulsivities
  • Sandplay for adults
  • HeartMath (TM)

As a way to give back to the community and to support overall mental health awareness, I volunteer with Mental Health America Colorado offering pro bono counseling and talks in the community on mental health issues.

I love to present and lead workshops!

Since 2008, I have been designing and presenting workshops.  My most recent work includes:

April 2016, I presented to a full room of lively and interactive clinicians at the Colorado Mental Health Professionals State Conference in the Denver Convention Center on the topic: “Adapt or Perish….and then Heal: Using Sandplay and Bilateral Stimulation to Integrate Trauma.”

March 2016, I presented to a delightful, engaging room of clinicians for the Colorado Sandplay Therapy Association on the topic: “The Best of Both Worlds: How EMDR and Sandplay™ Help Resolve Trauma”.

November 2015, I presented to a sold-out workshop in Denver as part of People House’s Professional Development series entitled: “The Best of Both Worlds: How EMDR and Sandplay™ Help Resolve Trauma”.

March 2015, I presented to a full room of clinicians at the American Counseling Association’s annual conference in Orlando, Florida on the topic: “Grief and the Silver Tsunami: Five Ways Grief Will be Different for the Aging Baby Boomers and What You Can Do About It”.
