Clinical Focus

The foundation of Barbara’s work centers around the premise of Therapeutic Presence.

“Therapeutic Presence” is the moment-to-moment attunement on a physical, emotional, cognitive, relational, and spiritual basis which invites a sense of safety, an experience of being heard, and a feeling of being understood.

This level of therapeutic presence invites the client to uncover and explore painful issues in a safe and supportive relational connection. From this place of presence, the clients own nature for healing and restored wholeness is supported, and moves them naturally toward long-lasting, positive therapeutic gains.

Barbara Sheehan-Zeidler, LPC

As a trauma-informed clinician, I work with the whole person – the body, the mind, and the spirit – as I believe all parts of Self can contribute to the successful and long-lasting resolution of what holds an individual back from living their best life.
